Cloud Application Developer
Overview
The Cloud Application Developer will directly support the US Air Force Space and Missile Center (SMC) Enterprise Ground Service (EGS) SATOPS, Prototyping, and Integration (SPI) program and its goal to deploy a universal command and control architecture aimed at eliminating restrictions by continuously delivering enterprise tactical command and control services and applications that, when integrated with mission partner unique services and applications through the use of system engineering principles, will fully enable today’s modern warfighter.
We are looking for a SW developer that can develop and integrate web services. The successful applicant will own the architecture and development of core platform services, designing and building technology to support the operations of a wide variety of Enterprise Ground Services.
The successful applicant will be able to develop and test web-based mission SW applications as well as integrate existing SW products in virtual web-based environments utilizing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles.

Position Responsibilities
- Defining architectures and building services on public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Support development of complex services that interface with physical remote systems.
- Developing with an emphasis on automation, security
- Coordinate and interface with Product Owners and Team Leads and other developers and systems that require application-specific services.
- Participate in technical and programmatic meetings and contribute to resolution of issues
- Develop and review technical and programmatic documentation
- Ensure developed product meets customer and user requirements and design objectives
- The ability to work well with a team, a history of technical leadership and mentorship, and the ability to communicate clearly
Minimum Security Clearance
- Has the ability to obtain a DoD Secret and is clearable to TS/SCI
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with the following technologies:
- Experience automating cloud topology deployment, configuration, and operation using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
- C++ and Python programming languages
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows operating systems
- Network services, protocols, and serialization techniques
- Ability to interface and document designs in UML
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability and desire to work in a team environment
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Concepts like distributed systems, multi-tenant systems, network protocols, network security, SSL, PKIX, routing, and load balancing
- Experience developing and utilizing Ansible playbooks
- Experience implementing continuous test methodology and use of continuous test frameworks and tools
- Experience working within a SAFe project/program
Education and Training Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems/Software, Aerospace Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or related technical discipline
