Description

Braxton Science & Technology Group is in search of a Director to lead the Company’s Business Development Operations.

This position is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing business development and marketing strategies and achieving associated targets. Specific responsibilities include business and market development; market research and planning; strategic direction for promotion and advertising; coordination with the product development and sales teams; and hiring and directing the day-to-day activities of marketing staff.

This position requires a significant amount of autonomy and an outstanding network of customer and industry partners. The position focus areas include, but are not limited to, Satellite Ground Systems, Telemetry, Tracking, & Commanding, Cyber Security/Information Assurance, Software Engineering, and Development and Test. Additionally, the position will seek opportunities for sales in both Commercial and Government Off-the-Shelf products.

This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer; however, the position takes significant direction and guidance from the business area leadership and requires daily interaction will all business areas.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serves as Braxton Science & Technology Group’s head business development and marketing member.
  • Provides business development expertise to the company by building, developing and managing a team capable of carrying out the necessary marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Develops marketing strategies, tactics, and resources necessary to achieve goals.
  • Reaches back to product sales solutions team to provide fully integrated offerings to our customers.
  • Develops and maintains pipeline of business development pursuits.
  • Supports the Product Development team to align our product strategies with market trends, customer requirements, and competitive threats.
  • Prepares and presents capability briefings and tailored value propositions.
  • Works with sales team and technical staff to understand customer requirements to create appropriate solutions.
  • Works within a team to respond to customer Requests for Proposal, Requests for Information, Statements of Capability and other mechanisms to communicate how the Company meets customer requirements.
  • Provides input and support to the company’s leadership.
  • Tradeshow support.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and marketing strategies.

Minimum Security Clearance

  • Active DoD Top Secret with a TS/SCI preferred.


Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 8+ years in a senior level business development position.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a network with Government organization and/or industry partners.
  • Prior experience within the Satellite Command and Control domains.
  • Sales and proposal preparation experience (cost, schedule and/or technical) and/or Government Acquisition experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills.
  • Proven history effectively speaking and presenting to audiences of any size, with a potential to speak to 50 or more.

Education and Training Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with Master’s Degree preferred

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 15+
