Braxton Technologies, a division of Braxton Science and Technology Group (BSTG), a growing technology solutions company, has an opening to support our growing engineering business. This position requires a motivated individual who seeks to work in a team environment where creative solutions are encouraged and technical challenges are the norm.

The Network Architect is responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. He or she will perform a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction. The Network Architect also provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.

Position Responsibilities 
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings
• Configure and setup Cisco Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security Appliances
• Design, setup and configure complex switching environments
• Design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications
• Maintaining multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance
• Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
• Any other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Security Clearance
• The ability to obtain a DoD Security clearance is required 
If this position requires a government clearance, the applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for accessing classified information.

Required Qualifications and Skills
In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, networking infrastructure, and network technologies
 Understanding of network communication protocols and network routing protocols and IP network troubleshooting
 Understanding of the project lifecycle and related processes, traditional systems engineering skills and knowledge, and requirements traceability matrices
 Knowledge of TCP/IP behavior, network communications and routing protocols, network traffic analysis and troubleshooting experience
 Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
 Must be a quick learner and able to multi-task in a dynamic and fast paced environment
 Must possess the ability work independently / solo at times on large projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with engineers. Individual must be able to solve problems at a system level. 
 Ability to bend, squat, crawl or climb 10% of the time with or without reasonable accommodation

Education and Training Required
Two year college (Associate’s Degree) required

Preferred Qualifications 
• Cisco / Juniper Certification(s) 
Bachelor’s Degree
