Overview

The Ground Systems Solutions Architect is a ground systems expert providing overall guidance, design, ICDs, requirements, and expertise for multi-level security tactical C2 Satellite and Mission Ground System architectures. The ground systems solutions architect is an excellent communicator who has ability to speak with authority and provide artifacts on best practices, lessons learned, and design trades associated with the architectures aligned with Satellite Operations/Mission Operations/Ground Operations as part of major design milestones SRR, PDR, CDR etc and presents directly to the government and prime customers. Other responsibilities include estimating cost, labor, and schedule impacts as well as integrating and aligning new missions into Enterprise Ground Services Architecture. The successful candidate will communicate the value our offerings bring to customers, while meeting their requirements and work across the enterprise to enable the ground systems of the future. The Ground Systems Solutions Architect is a technical expert within Braxton on all enterprise ground architectures and can contribute to proposals as well as technical capture efforts. Elucidate Mission needs, develop and evolve architectures to optimally meet mission needs and leverage technology advances with realizable designs. Develop structural and behavioral service architectures with realizable designs. Develop process and workflows that efficiently deliver needed capability.

Position Responsibilities

• Leads ground system development activities
• Writes technical proposals, whitepapers, and design documents to address Mission Unique Incorporations of Satellite and Mission C2 Capabilities
• Designs Requirements and ICDs to ensure compliance between multiple disparate ground systems and boundaries
• Design Trade spaces between best of breed capabilities within COTS/GOTS/Custom Satellite Ground C2 applications.
• Assists with existing Satellite C2 Architectures providing inputs and guidance bridging modern and legacy system capabilities.
• Interacts with Government/Prime Customers directly solving problems and providing guidance and expertise.
• Designs and contributes to enterprise level Multi-Level security architectures
• Designs and contributes to private, hybrid, and public commercial and government cloud computing solutions for enterprise architectures
• Presents ground artifacts as part of major design milestones at SRR, PDR, CDR, etc. and delivers solutions aligned with designs
• Provides technical guidance & expertise to teams in execution of ground systems contracts

Minimum Security Clearance

• The ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance; an active DoD SCI Clearance is desired

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Expert understanding of Satellite Ground Systems Engineering, Development, Integration and Test, or Operations Engineering fields
• Demonstrated experience with Satellite Command and Control, Scheduling and Optimization, Flight Dynamics, and/or Space Vehicle Simulation and Enterprise Architectures
• Proven experience as a technical, solutions, and/or Ground Solutions Architect
• Experienced with modern agile development techniques
• Demonstrated experience with at least one of the following scripting languages: Perl, Python, and/or JavaScript
• Some working knowledge of least one of the following programming languages is desirable: C++, Java, C#, .Net
• Strong written and oral communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD TS/SSBI or SCI Clearance
• Technical Sales background
• Neptune or OSComet Ground Application Development
• Agile software development processes (Atlassian)
• Satellite ground systems or satellite command and control
• C2MS/GMSEC Integration
• Cybersecurity and DCO domain knowledge

Education and Training Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Systems/Software, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline required

• 10+
