Position Responsibilities and Overview

The Network Engineer will manage a range of network devices in support of the NOAA Jason Ground System (NJGS) technology refresh. An experienced professional with a background in mission-critical government network implementation and maintenance, the Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all network devices are configured, integrated, and documented, and will support system-level integration, test, and troubleshooting activities as appropriate. Successful candidates will be highly motivated individuals comfortable working with a cross-disciplinary team in a fast-paced and challenging environment. This position provides opportunities to work with, and create, cutting-edge aerospace technology in support of civil space programs.

Required Security Clearance

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Direct, hands-on experience with configuration and management of Cisco IOS and NX-OS network devices, including routers (Cisco ISR 4431) and switches (Cisco Nexus 3048 and Cisco Nexus 93120TX)
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work with minimal direct supervision

Education and Training Required

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics or a related technical field

Years of Experience

• Mid-level experience required

Desired Qualifications, Skills, Certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
• CompTIA Network+ certification
• Experience with NOAA network operations
