Description

Space Ground System Solutions has an immediate full-time opening for a Scrum Master professional to join our team. The candidate will be supporting the Virtual Mission Operations Center (VMOC) program under contract with Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, DC. The candidate will be responsible for aligning multiple teams with different agile methodologies to ensure a quality software product and customer satisfaction. The primary work location is the local SGSS office in Alexandria, VA.

 

General Experience:

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience on an agile team.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Ability to analyze problems and quickly provide a path to resolution.
    • Ability to keep the team aligned with the agile methodology currently in use.
    • Ability to work with and lead multiple teams.
    • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
    • Ability to keep the team focused in the middle of distraction.
    • Effective communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.
    • Experience with multiple Agile techniques (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).
    • Experience with Atlassian Software Development and Collaboration Tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket etc.) and their application to Agile techniques.
    • Experience with software configuration management tools (e.g. git).
    • Self-motivation.

 

  • Desired Qualifications     
    • Familiarity with testing software application program interfaces (APIs).
    • Familiarity with Satellite Systems, Satellite Operations, and/or Aerospace Engineering concepts.
    • Familiarity with Unix based operating systems.
    • Familiarity with Object Oriented development.
    • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g. MySql, PostGreSql).

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot software system issues
  • Work as an effective team member across multiple disciplines (systems, networking, configuration management, & test engineering)
  • Work in a dynamic, fast paced, & sometimes pressured environment
  • Travel, up to 10%

 

Minimum Education:

Agile certification from accredited providers and a degree from an accredited higher level education institution.

 

Security Clearance:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements associated with obtaining an active DoD Secret clearance
  • Selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements associated with access to classified information.
