Location: Colorado Springs, CO; 559 E. Pikes Peak Ave

 

Shift & Travel

               M-F, Days

               10% (or less) travel required

 

MAJOR FUNCTION: Translates software requirements into functional tests and code. Reviews software changes for fitness. Diagnoses and finds root cause in existing and new code.

 

Responsibilities - Essential functions

  • Supports principal/lead engineers and program managers in developing subsystem solutions through multiple phases of the engineering lifecycle, and in developing other work products of moderate complexity.
  • Verifies work products meet detailed customer and user requirements and other design objectives.
  • Develops and reviews integrated technical and programmatic documentation.
  • Supports junior engineers in a mentorship capacity
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Complete all initial and annual training requirements and disclosures as outlined by BSTG.
  • Perform all other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives and responsibilities of the department.

 

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technical field
  • 6+ with a Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ with a Master’s Degree

Required Skills/Abilities – Competencies

  • Experience with the following technologies:
    1. Python, C, and C++ programming languages
    2. Windows and Linux operating systems
    3. Computer networking including standard socket I/O, services, and clients
    4. Professional level experience with a minimum of three preferred experience and qualifications listed below
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidence.

 

Preferred experience and qualifications

  • Theory of radio frequency (RF) modulations, encodings, multiple access
  • Software-defined radios/receivers
  • GPS, GNSS (global navigation satellite systems), and PNT (position, navigation, and timing)
  • Non-ranging navigation techniques such as INS (inertial navigation systems)
  • Precision timekeeping
  • Distributed computation techniques, parallelization, and clusters
  • Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning
  • Physics modeling and simulation
  • Satellite ground systems or satellite command and control
  • Network communications security, encryption, and authentication

 

Security Clearance Requirements:

 

Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance
