Description

Space Ground System Solutions has an immediate full-time opening for a Cloud DevSecOps Engineer to support our cloud-hosted Satellite Operations development program.  The position will be responsible for development and integration of hybrid-cloud space-to-ground transmit/receive services for national security customers.

 

The Enterprise Ground Services (EGS) Rapid Delivery Team (RDT) requires a full-time cloud-native software engineer who is responsible for the secure automation related to building, testing and deploying environments in AWS using industry standard tools: Terraform, Packer, Ansible, etc. This person will identify operational requirements and implement/test/deliver appropriate solutions. The individual’s tasks will require deep understanding of infrastructure services in the context of a both the commercial cloud environment and highly-secure large scale enterprise networks, and design and implement solutions within that environment.

 

General Experience:

Seven (7) to twelve (12) years of software engineering/development experience using a modern language in Linux and cloud-native (AWS, Azure, GCP) environments.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing software using a modern programming language (Python, Java, C++, C#, etc.)
  • Experience configuring/using build automation tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
  • Experience with configuration management using Git, BitBucket, etc.
  • Experience with the Amazon CLI
  • Experience automating cloud topology deployment, configuration, and operation using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience with designs consuming cloud services/technologies, specifically on AWS (EC2, EBS, ELB, KMS, IAM, STS, CloudWatch, S3, VPC, security groups)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience on Linux and Windows 2012/2016 is required
  • Experience with OS security involving Active Directory, Windows networking, Group policies, DNS, PKI & Certificates, LDAP, NACL
  • (Preferred) Concepts like distributed systems, multi-tenant systems, network protocols, network security, SSL, PKIX, routing, and load balancing
  • (Preferred) Experience implementing controls from NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, ICD 503, RMF, DoD ILs
  • (Preferred) Experience implementing continuous test methodology and use of continuous test frameworks and tools
  • (Preferred) Experience with Satellite Ground Systems, Ground System Operations, or Satellite Operations      

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively as part of a geographically-distributed team, with heavy reliance on collaboration tools and technologies, and a work program structured around Lean/Agile delivery
  • Design, develop, and deliver in an automated manner, environments into AWS as needed by the RDT
  • Deliver, maintain, and document DevSecOps capabilities with a focus on integration/test and operational users
  • Maintain a cloud and security mindset throughout the life cycle of the solution
  • Research areas of improvements and design/implement enhancements working with other teams in Braxton
  • Create best practices for cloud operations and be consultative to project teams throughout duration of a project
  • Travel, up to 25%

 

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Math, Physics or other relevant Engineering field from an accredited university or equivalent combination of formal education and experience

 

Security Clearance:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements associated with obtaining a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements associated with access to classified information
