Ingenicomm, a Braxton Science and Technology Group (BSTG) division, has an opening for a Ground Systems Engineer to join Ingenicomm’s ground system product group. Ingenicomm is a leading provider of satellite ground equipment and enterprise engineering services for civil, commercial, defense and intelligence aerospace programs. Our staff is composed of class-A design engineers, systems engineers, and process-oriented support staff, with strong technical and executive leadership. We support missions operated by a majority of domestic and international space agencies, and Ingenicomm equipment is deployed on every continent, including Antarctica. This position requires a highly motivated individual who is looking to support, and in some cases lead, a team of engineers for current and future product deployments, identify business opportunities and build and maintain long-term relationships with domestic and international customers.

The need to modernize ground system architecture drives us to think outside the box and seek out ingenious communication paradigms — and thus we created Ingenicomm. We specialize in the standardization of ground network elements, enabling interoperability while providing customized solutions to meet the unique requirements of individual missions. Our approach allows the user flexibility in a multi-mission environment by leveraging powerful software processing to solve complex engineering problems. Ingenicomm’s CGS software framework represents the next generation of ground system technology. CGS combines high-performance, multi-mission data processing capabilities with flexible, user-configurable feature sets to provide a comprehensive range of functionality for both CCSDS and non-CCSDS ground systems. Ingenicomm’s Programmable Telemetry Processor (PTP) is a highly versatile, modular telemetry and command front-end processor for use in remote tracking stations and satellite operations centers. The PTP is also well suited for spacecraft integration and testing at the factory and on the launch pad. Ingenicomm also develops signal conversion devices, and the icCON series of signal converters includes a variety of configurations to satisfy a wide range of signaling requirements. The icDSW is a highly configurable multi-channel input/output device engineered for a variety of applications including signal conversion, multi-channel frame synchronization, data source selection, channel and system failover, and data distribution and replication.

Candidates must be able to understand Ingenicomm’s ground system product portfolio and effectively articulate solutions to new and existing customers.  The individual will be based in Chantilly, VA, with frequent travel.  Multidisciplinary candidates with technical backgrounds as well as experience in sales, marketing, and customer relationship management are desired.

Position Responsibilities

• Support an engineering team, and lead projects, that support customer service requests and development of new features for Ingenicomm products;
• Work with product representatives to develop solutions to complex mission challenge;
• Conduct outreach to customers  through site visits, briefings, and technical product demonstrations;
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop solutions and prepare technical and budgetary proposals;
• Support development of a technical roadmap for existing Ingenicomm ground system product offerings to include business case analysis for Internal Research and Development (IR&D) projects;
• Identify new opportunities and solicit sales of Ingenicomm’s ground system product portfolio;
• Initiate, maintain, and grow relationships with customers, both domestically and internationally;
• Provide support to other business development staff as well as external sales representatives; and
• Participate in various engineering and management forums, such as customer support, pipeline, forecast, and opportunity reviews.

• Experience with satellite ground systems, such as telemetry and command processors
• Excellent communication skills and experience presenting technical material to customers and management
• Experience managing engineering teams for product development

Education and Training Required

• Four-year college (Bachelor’s Degree); preference for technical degree

• 6 years of experience
